Happy November!

Eggnog is finally here! Time to stop in and enjoy a delicious eggnog latte or chai-nog..

We have some very exciting musicians this month. Tonight, we have Paula Maya and her band. They describe themselves as "eclectic and spunky pop". On Friday the 13th, Lisa Marshall will be joining us while she is in town again from 5-7pm. The same night we will be featuring the Smita Shukla Ladies Open Mic and Stella and Dot Jewlery Trunk Show from 7:30-9:30pm. On Saturday the 14th, Garrett & Westcott will be gracing our stage again from 7:30-9:30pm. On Sunday November 15th, Robert Livingsten will be performing some live jazz from 3:00-5:00pm.  The following weekend we have Marc Smason on the 20th, and a big show on the 21st. Check the website in the next week or so to see the artists that will be performing. On Sunday the 22nd, Pat Terlizzi will perform from 6:00-8:00pm.  Join us to see some great performers this month!

Remember we will be closed on Thanksgiving so our staff and management can enjoy the day with their families.  We will have regular hours on Friday.  Come join us for a cup of coffee and a delicious pastry from our bakery.

If you haven't stopped by recently we have several new retail items including new candles from the Blue Herron Candel Company in Olympia.  We also have some beautiful jewelry from Africa, and environmentally safe bags.

Finally, what you all have been waiting for..the word of the month is holiday. Come in and tell us this word and recieve a free 12oz latte!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.

HOW TO VOTE

Yeah! Let's see if we can get LOVE IS LOVE to hit number 1. We have a few more weeks of voting. If we do, it would be a big help because then my publicist can send out a killer press release about the video charting at number 1.  So, please do keep voting, if you can :)  And remember, if you vote 100 times, let me know and I will mail you a free autographed CD of your choice!  Already a number of people have received their free CD.

Here's how to vote (it just takes a second):

1. Click this link:  http://www.logoonline.com/shows/dyn/the_click_list/video_voting.jhtml

2. Scroll to bottom, choose LOVE IS LOVE, fill in your email or don't fill in your email. Either way, your vote is counted. Hit Submit.

3. Repeat as often as you like.  If you vote 10 times in a row, it does count.

4. Tell your friends to do it, if you like.

5. Tell me that you did it so I can thank you!!

THANK YOU and I promise I won't bug you guys too often for these kinds of things.  But this is one very important opportunity.  Thank you.

Last show till 2010

One more show till 2010 (unless some awesome show opportunity arises that I can't resist), so hope to see you there.  Will be premiering a brand new song and performing with Glenn Firester on drums/harmonica.

International Pop Festival @ Kenny's Castaways in NYC

Hope to see you on Saturday and thank you for all your votes.

And remember to tune in tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 9am on LOGO TV to watch my LOVE IS LOVE video.

Wiretappers at Egan's Ballard Jam House - November 14th - a Sensory Experience

Hey Friends,

We sure would be happy to see you on Saturday, November 14th at Egan's.   We love this place!  Feels intimate, nice food, everyone is close to the stage to see, smells good.  ok, I think we've got ALL the major senses covered - oh, wait!  The SOUND - you'll hear The Wiretappers' Very Special Mixed-up Blend of swing, folk, country, drinking songs (Mark) and the unexpected jazz or original number for that extra-sensory experience.

We play at 7pm, so come early for dinner and drinks or dessert!  The next act starts at 9.  We'd love you to fill up the 46 seats (it's an intimate venue).  Call 206-789-1621 to make a reservation.

OR if you happen to be up in Anacortes on November 13th for Brewgrass, we're playing there, too!

One last announcement:  Soup and bread fundraiser for the Wallingford Senior Center (at the Senior Center) on Thursday Nov. 19th from 6-8. Lost in the Fog is playing. Remember Lost in the Fog?
From Jake, Mark, Dave and Scott
The Wiretappers

ENGLISH IS CUH-RAY-ZEE

ENGLISH IS CUH-RAY-ZEE (Richard Lederer) Pete Seeger English is the most widely spoken language in the history of the planet. One out of every seven human beings can speak or read it. Half the world's books, three-quarters of the international mail are in English. It has the largest vocabulary, perhaps two million words, And a noble body of literature. But face it: English is cuh-ray-zee! Just a few examples: There's no egg in eggplant, no pine or apple in pineapple. Quicksand works slowly; boxing rings are square. A writer writes, but do fingers fing? Hammers don't ham, grocers don't groce. Haberdashers don't haberdash. English is cuh-ray-zee! If the plural of tooth is teeth, shouldn't the plural of booth be beeth? It's one goose, two geese. Why not one moose, two meese? The plural of index is indices; should it be one Kleenex, two Kleenices? English is cuh-ray-zee! You can comb through the annals of history, but not just one annal. You can make amends, but not just one amend. If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one, is it an odd or an end? If the teacher taught, why isn't it true that a preacher praught? If you wrote a letter, did you also bote your tongue? And if a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? English is cuh-ray-zee! Why is it that night falls but never breaks and day breaks but never falls? In what other language do people drive on the parkway and park on the driveway? Ship by truck but send cargo by ship? Recite at a play but play at a recital? Have noses that run and feet that smell? English is cuh-ray-zee! How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same When a wise man and a wise guy are very different? To overlook something and to oversee something are very different, But quite a lot and quite a few are the same. How can the weather be hot as hell one day and cold as hell the next? English is cuh-ray-zee! You have to marvel at the lunacy of a language in which your house can burn down While it is burning up. You fill out a form by filling it in. In which your alarm clock goes off by going on. If pro is the opposite of con, what is the opposite of progress? Well, English was invented by people, not computers And reflects the creativity of the human race. So that's why when the stars are out, they're visible, But when the lights are out, they're invisible. When I wind up my watch I start it, but when I wind up this rap, I end it. English is cuh-ray-zee!
